Here is all the basic information about BRIGHT’s state-of-the-art new project of 18 sustainable luxury villas: what it is, where it is and how much it costs.

WHAT IT IS
A Vista Lago villa is a unique luxury residence in a private gated community within the exclusive gated country cub resort of Real de La Quinta, one of the most outstanding of its kind in Southern Europe. Each villa has been individually designed, inside and out, and each is fully sustainable and quite different from the next. All the individual plots are generous, with uninterrupted views over the coast, the Mediterranean Sea, the Rock of Gibraltar and North Africa, from almost every room in every villa.
Each villa has been creatively designed as a whole and in every detail, with absolute consideration of the differing tastes of different future owners, the utmost respect for the environment, and full awareness of the views that nature has provided.
Inside each villa, nothing blocks the view. Floor-to-ceiling windows slide back into the wall, to bring the living area out into the terrace. Window frames are thin, to ensure that when closed, there is no barrier between inside and out. The layout is open-plan, with no dividing walls in the communal spaces and the bare minimum of columns. And all villas have areas set aside for entertainment rooms, gymnasium and office space.
Outside, with very low construction density to allow for open spaces and respect for the natural beauty of the surroundings, there are different terrace areas for different activities. The gardens are large enough for herb and vegetable plots, if so desired. The infinity pools are true infinity, with nothing between the horizontal lines of the pool and the Mediterranean Sea.
The interiors of all 18 villas, with a choice of three or four ensuite bedrooms, have been designed individually, making each unique in style and decoration. Clients can simply take their pick of the interior style that suits them best. While some are more conservative in overall style, others are bold, even extravagant. All the furniture is either carefully selected top brand names or has been exclusively designed for each villa by UDesign, making it thus unavailable on the open market, but all are offered with the option of purchasing the furniture, fittings and decorations as seen. All the villas include a multi-use basement that can be customised to individual requirements.
The plots vary in size between a total surface area of 1,107 to 10,005 square metres, with respective built areas amounting to 484 to 534 square metres. The terraces vary from 64 to 189 square metres in size.
Vista Lago Residences is in the process of obtaining BREEAM certification, which aims to improve the level of building sustainability by promoting the best practices and technologies available on the market. In fact, Real de La Quinta, in which Vista Lago Residences is located, was the first urban development project in Spain certified by BREEAM.
WHERE IT IS
Marbella and its surrounding area, of which Vista Lago is part, needs little introduction to anybody contemplating a move to Southern Spain. Suffice it to say that, being a fairly short and easy drive to both Malaga and Gibraltar airports, with constant and numerous flights to most of the rest of Europe all year round, and with a mini-climate that makes its lifestyle unique, Marbella’s location is, perhaps, the most ideal in Southern Europe.
Vista Lago Residences is located on a high 6.5 hectare site between Marbella’s La Concha Mountain and the exclusive La Zagaleta Country Club & Golf estate, bordering a UNESCO biosphere reserve and just a 15-minute drive from Marbella, with immediate views over mountainous terrain, the largest man-made lakes on the Costa del Sol and a golf course. The larger Real de La Quinta estate covers 200 hectares of mountainside in the foothills of the Sierra de las Nieves mountain range.
It should be pointed out that the layout of the land on this map gives no indication of differing heights, and that all plots shown offer uninterrupted views as previously described.
Vista Lago Residences is a 5-minute walk to Real de La Quinta, where the services will include a supermarket, golf course and academy, boutique hotel, wellness spa, exclusive restaurant, lake and watersports, clubhouse, tennis and padel courts and equestrian centre.
Given that most people think of distance in terms of car journeys, it will be useful to know that fifteen minutes by car brings you to Marbella, Puerto Banus, San Pedro and Benahavis, as well as three top golf courses, shopping centre and numerous restaurants, supermarkets, spas and yoga studios.
WHAT IT COSTS
Given that each villa is unique in design and different in size, prices vary considerably, but start at 2,895,000 euros, off-plan.
