In line with our own sustainable philosophy at BRIGHT, the Atlas Group are committed to contribute to environmental improvement, continually monitoring their impact on the environment. Each year, they establish objectives to improve specific protocols and their work procedures. Additionally, they use environmental indicators which give information on their environmental performance, which in turn serves as a basis for decision making within the organisation.
With construction well underway the first villas at Vista Lago Residences are scheduled for completion in Spring 2025. We spoke to Mike Gregory about their work processes and the construction of Vista Lago.

Vista Lago Residences sits on one of the highest villa plots in Real de la Quinta, seeing this landscape from an aerial viewpoint, you really see how incredible this plot of land is and also how challenging it must be to build on.
Vista Lago Residences is unique due to its elevation and panoramic views, presenting both a remarkable opportunity and a set of challenges. The steep terrain requires advanced engineering solutions to ensure stability and safety.
Vista Lago has already received international recognition, can you tell us how the construction process you are implementing is exceeding market standards?
Market standards in luxury real estate emphasise quality, innovation, and sustainability. At Atlas Group, we are committed to surpassing these benchmarks with the use of sustainable building materials, energy-efficient systems, and cutting-edge construction techniques. Wherever possible we implement green building practices but also regarding the complete project; gardens carefully designed using plants suitable to the Mediterranean climate, and smart irrigation systems to limit water usage. Our dedication to sustainability is not just about meeting standards but setting new ones, ensuring that our projects are environmentally responsible and future-proof. Additionally, Vista Lago Residencies has applied for the BREEAM certification. BREEAM is the most technically advanced method for assessing building sustainability. The villas will have several innovations including a purposeful design to achieve A-A energy rating for non-renewable energy consumption and carbon emissions, an intelligent control system to optimise electric usage in the homes and a rainwater harvesting system installed to reduce water usage.
Working in parallel with your clients to ensure a successful project must have its challenges. How do you maintain a good relationship with designers and developers, even when they have to change the plan due to a myriad of reasons?
Maintaining a strong relationship with project managers, architects, suppliers and the client hinges on clear communication and a collaborative approach. We prioritise regular meetings and updates to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle. When changes are necessary, we provide detailed explanations and work together to find mutually agreeable solutions that maintain the project’s integrity. Flexibility and mutual respect are key; we value the input of all stakeholders and strive to balance their visions with practical considerations.
As Director General and Co-Founder of Atlas Group, having overseen a diverse portfolio of luxury projects, what major changes do you foresee in the construction and design industry over the next 10 years?
Over the next decade, I anticipate significant advancements in sustainable building practices and smart home technology integration. The construction industry will likely see a greater emphasis on reducing carbon footprints, with innovations in eco-friendly materials and renewable energy sources becoming standard. In addition, AI (Artificial Intelligence) in home design will revolutionise how we approach luxury living, offering unparalleled convenience, efficiency, and customisation.
With the increasing demand for luxury real estate on the Costa del Sol, how does your company handle the workload and manage new enquiries?
To manage the increasing demand, we have streamlined our processes and expanded our team with highly skilled professionals. Our team is dedicated to handling enquiries promptly and thoroughly, ensuring potential clients receive the information and support they need. Additionally, we have established partnerships with reliable subcontractors and suppliers to maintain the quality and timeliness of our projects, even as our workload grows.
