One of the best parts of Marbella culture is the late morning scene! Waking up at your own pace and indulging in a relaxed breakfast is more than a habit—it’s a cherished tradition. Whether it’s heading into the Old Town to enjoy churros con chocolate, or venturing to the outskirts of the city for the hidden gems, we are on a mission to experience the best that Marbella has to offer.

It’s hard to pick favourites, particularly when comparing fancier gourmet venues with more humble artisanal corner cafés, so The Breakfast Diaries is our new monthly blog post where we aim to feature the best, from fresh Mediterranean spreads, to timeless cappuccino & croissant combos. There are some seriously iconic cafés to discover in the Marbella area, and we’re going to be sharing the top places that truly embody the town’s dedication to culinary excellence.
Our latest leisurely afternoon took us to Art Bakery & Gourmet, a french-style café and cake boutique that specialises in breakfast, brunch and fine pastry. Located close to the Cascada de Camojan urbanisation, the area has a relaxed residential vibe, with no-fuss free parking and quiet surroundings, tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The café has gained recognition as one of the top 10 most beautiful cafés in Spain and one of the best breakfast spots on the Costa del Sol, and it’s easy to see why.
Upon entry you are welcomed into a calm and cool environment, a serene escape from the peak of the Summer heat. The décor is pristine and tastefully art-oriented, with a refreshing blend of modern-style-meets-vintage luxury. We spent quite a lot of time admiring the exquisite pastry display, resulting in an irresistible purchase of a week’s worth of bread, desserts and tea accompaniments.
Part of our bakery haul included the Malted Rye Bread Borodinsky loaf, the Gluten-Free Buckwheat Bread loaf decorated with toasted sunflower seeds, and the Spelt Sourdough bread loaf. The Lemon Tart and Brownie were must-haves, and to add, we picked up a few packets of the cutely-wrapped Cantuccini cookies with pistachio nuts, for just €3 each. Bargain!
For the quantity and quality of the food here, we have to say the pricing is very reasonable and highly competitive. For our brunch items we chose the Countryside Sourdough Truffle Bread with Avocado and Fried Eggs, and the Baked Croissant with Ham/Turkey & Cheese + Green Salad. For drinks we opted for a Cappuccino, Matcha Latte and Fresh Orange Juice. Everything was to a high standard, and the quality of ingredients were top-notch. We followed with a delicious sourdough ciabatta loaf with a side of whipped butter and raspberry jam to flesh out our second order of drinks: Green Tea and some Kombucha Berry Juice.
The best part is our office mascot: Meadow the Chihuahua got to come along with us! Dogs are allowed, so no need to leave your furry friend at home. This was our first time experiencing the delicacies at Art Bakery & Gourmet, and we must say we feel like we have found a real gem.
