Get in the festive mood at the Kempinski Hotel Bahia!

BRIGHT.
Father Christmas

With Christmas less than a month away, it’s time to look for events that will ease you and your family into the festive spirit. Thankfully, Kempinski Hotel Bahia, which just celebrated its 20thanniversary with a lobby makeover, has plenty going on. Whether it’s just you and your spouse, the whole family or a group of friends, Kempinski Bahia has an array of December events to choose from.

Saturday November 30 – Traditional Christmas Market & Lighting of Christmas Tree

Celebrations kick off on Saturday with the lighting of the diamond Christmas Tree. Brought from Northern Spain and standing  5 metres tall, it was decorated by diamond artist Debbie Wingham whose clients include Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and Arabian sheikhs. Each piece on this tree is special and has a story behind it – from a repurposed Louis Vuitton handbag to a million-dollar bill made in gold. Drop by to ogle at this modern fairytale masterpiece and make a day of it – Kempinski’s traditional Christmas market complete with a visit from Father Christmas will be on from 12pm to 8pm (free entry) and the tree will be lit at 6pm. A giant Gingerbread house has been put in the lobby which, along with the Christmas tree, will be on display until January 6.

Sunday December 1 – Kempinski Bakery Workshop

There’s plenty of entertainment for kids too. The Kempinski Christmas bakery workshop makes a great family outing: learn how to make the perfect stollen cake with a traditional recipe from the general manager’s mother and decorate Christmas cookies – which you can devour with a coffee at the hotel bar, or take home.

Saturday December 28 – Diamonds & Champagne 7.30 – 10.30 pm

The diamond theme will be taken to a new level at the “Diamonds and Champagne” evening with an exquisite cocktail dinner. It’s a great way to test your luck: on arrival each guest will be given a glass of champagne with a diamond at the bottom. The catch? Only one of them will be real and only a certified gemologist present at the event will be able to tell which one. The lucky person with the real diamond gets to keep it! Complete with a red carpet, Chef David Fernandez’ five-course dinner experience, DJ and live music, this dazzling event is a great way to start the New Year’s weekend.

For more seasonal events including high tea, flamenco night, Christmas Eve gala dinner and New Year’s Day lunch (guaranteed to restore your energy with a semi-buffet and live music) visit the hotel website.
