Last week the architects of Villa Alcuzcuz, UDesign, received a five-star award for “Best Architecture Single Residence, Spain” from the International Property Awards and were nominated for re-judging against the five-star winners in other regions of the world – Asia Pacific, Americas, UK, Africa and Arabia. Director of Marketing, Cheryl Gatward, had the honour of collecting the award in London at a glittering ceremony held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel.
For over 25 years the objective of International Property Awards has been to recognise excellence and maintain high standards in the property industry worldwide. Decisions on award winners are given by an expert panel of 75 independent judges, including Lord Caithness, Lord Best and other high-flying professionals in the international property industry. The 1.460 square metre Villa Alcuzcuz is Marbella’s first environmentally friendly luxury home. Built under Passive House Regulations and Standards, it’s a trailblazer for the local property market, bridging the gap between luxury and sustainability. The project was conceived a few years ago, when Bright’s Creative Director, Jason Harris, was struck by the idea of building a luxury villa that would function practically for comfortable living. If you’ve ever been in a huge mansion and had to walk what feels like miles just to get a glass of water from the kitchen you will understand the issue. No matter which part of Villa Alcuzcuz you’re in, the kitchen and terrace are never far away. Each main living area – formal lounge, family TV room, terrace – comes off the central kitchen and dining area. Even though Villa Alcuzcuz is a mansion, it is designed to create effortless flow from one space to another and proportional perfection.
With its state-of-the-art entertainment area, Villa Alcuzcuz provides plenty of options for active pastime for him and her, including a home cinema, golf simulator, sports bar, fully equipped gym, sauna and treatment rooms for massage, manicures and pedicures and a complete hairdressing salon.
Holistic design, custom-made or top-brand furniture, high-quality fixture and fittings and expert art selection come as part of the “designer villa” package, but Villa Alcuzcuz is much more – it’s a house built for comfortable living that quite simply will improve your quality of life.
